The jobs I have held have been kind of “babysitting” jobs where I’ve usually only had about an hour or so of real work during my shift which has allowed me to read all sorts of business and real estate books, listen to real estate podcasts, search for deals on the MLS and elsewhere all during the course of my work shift.

If you aren't doing this with an LLC or other company, then the money is "still all yours" - you can freely do as you please with those funds (once the rents accrue enough for you to have a comfort level).I would suggest you contact a good accountant (CPA) knowledgeable in real estate matters to assist you with starting up your accounting system for this rental.

I am not sure what everyone on this thread's experience with syndications are, and I have not invested with Spark Rental Investments.When I look at their portfolio, I see several properties owned and operated by Rise 48, and a couple quick google searches show they are not the primary group behind a couple others.

but I just had our second kid 5 weeks ago and we've decided it would make more sense for me to stay home with the boys and start focusing on real estate investing.I've been searching through the forums and it doesn't seem like there are too many BP members out here in the panhandle.
