Cameron, In the UK and markets with connections to the UK (Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore) RICS is a designation that illustrates a broad based understanding of real estate. 

Or does that stay too local and it should be advertised more broadly?

I think touching base with one another regularly can offer support, encouragement, and networking; a great way to keep it on the blessing end of the spectrum.

Hi all, hope everyone is having a great start to the week.After reading a lot of posts on diversification, I'd be interested in hearing out of state / remote investors' thoughts on balancing the effort+time it takes to learn an area and build an effective team there with the desire for diversifying their investments across different regions or states.I'm sure people have approaches all across the spectrum, but I think it'd be really insightful to learn about your experiences, both good and bad.

Considering how broad the range of pay is across this sector, you can imagine that the types of properties they're looking for vary greatly as well.

@Tony Mayo looking at states is way too broad.

As another post mentioned, there's no way to effectively police these policies broadly: too many small timers out there to catch them all.   

Either way, you need to narrow your criteria because if you leave it too broad you'll be spending too much time snapping your neck looking at everything that comes on the market and could be too slow to find any great deals.
