Patrick Q. Water Charges Duplex
30 April 2021 | 2 replies
Hello guys,I am preparing a duplex for tenants currently and would like to have a concrete way to divide the water bill per actual usage.I would rather not build it into the rent or divide by square footage. The building is newer and the plumbing is set up such that there is an individual water riser to each unit (so it can be measured separately if I figure out how to do it).In Jersey City, one is not permitted to have 2 water utility meters in the same dwelling. Therefore I cant have the tenants deal directly with the utility company.Does anybody have an suggestions as to how I can successfully set this up?
