SFHs/condos encourage scarcity mentality and this is another example of this.

There is the actual cost and the mental energy and your time.I see both sides. 

If they typically won't do that, then I'd just mentally lump it into that rental rate.

Keep in mind  most Tenants are mentally unstable they are prone to over react and often make stuff up to fit their narrative . they are like young mischievous children with creative imaginations .

I think it goes with that mentality of Kiyosaki "how can I afford it?".

The vast majority of people have the “live for the day” mentality.

The whole COVID-19 situation has been ridiculous (in my opinion), and I wouldn't focus energy/mental head space on something that isn't fair or right.
