I will also concur with Dan above regarding the valuations (appraisals) after completion, however, I will also state that the values are less of importance starting out expecting them to catch up down the road when there are more comps to properly value these units.

You did not interpret my post properly. 

This would be our first home/real estate purchase but we have a background in finance/accounting so coming into this with a proper mindset.

You can't caretake the property properly if the seller is not there and trusted you with getting it sold off-market if you just allow people to go when they want.
