It's impossible to predict the future, but you should be choosing a strategy that aligns with your long term goals. 

I was wondering if anyone has come up with a successful agreement that aligns the interests of the owner and general contractor.  

If the people that found the deal did the right homework they found it in an up and coming matket, added value and forced appreciation right away so it is worth a lot more in year one because commercial multifamily sales values are aligned with the income not the other buildings that sold by them.

Sometimes the team just doesn't align.

@Timothy Ray i like to to know i have alignment of interest, meaning only when I make should they make money.

I understand all of this comes down what my wife and I get aligned on.

Dig deep and understand that it is NOT happiness, but rather a situation in which you have the ability to determine how you spend your time and make decisions that align with multi-generational values you have. 

That is likely true for many agents as the work load vs the commission amount may not align.

It really puts in perspective how you are living your day to day life and for you to make sure that aligns with your goals.

Most common problems I see people have with their property managers seem to stem from the fact that the incentives are not properly aligned between the manager and the owner.
