This way you have the transparency, you can make money off the deals in multiple ways (if you found the deal and the bank doesn't approve your offer, you can list it publicly and get a commission), and you can control the process much more efficiently.I couldn't imagine having to rely on a real estate agent to tell me what's going on with my deals...
