Buying an inherited property
Hi,
I am in discussion with a person who says he inherited a property. What due diligence do I need to make sure he is only one heir. Can I complete the transaction using a realtor or do I need to hire a real estate attorney?

You do not have to use an attorney to settle but real estate attorney's can handle settlements for you if you choose. It is always wise to have some form of representation in any transaction you are a part of.
Either the attorney or title company you use will pull the deed and run a title search. As long as the property is in the persons name and title is clear you should be good to go.
