Many So Cal residents will drive to the San Bernardino County mountains for a mountain staycation before they make the lengthy trip to Yosemite, Sequoia, or Mammoth.

While my revenue numbers were no where close to what you have, we bought it for other reasons (essentially free trips to the DR that at least one per year was tax deductible to check on the property).  

Its def worth a trip to look.Connect with me and I can give you at least my insider take on it.

They also do field trips and hold a lot of helpful seminars-priceless for a new investor!

@Joseph VelezMy business partner just came back from a trip there with his family and asked me that same exact question.

if you have weekends free, you could make trips to some of the markets you mentioned and look at as many properties as you possibly can. 

We take a proactive/preventative management approach to our homes and sometimes owner's complain about the 4 or 5 trips taken to the property for inspections, gutter cleanings, furnace PM's etc.

I am taking trip to Indiana to look at my first rental property.
