I was really just looking at comparing Apples to Apples (not comparing to investing vs paying off).

Because sometimes situations are due to lack of education  ORIf you wanted to really help I suggest educating young military members with the downside of home ownership for a short period of time.  

For one, their lack of knowledge, two, their lack of general business skills and lastly because most of them I do not trust. 

With your lack of experience you can get an investor/builder in trouble..

With the section 8 housing do you know if the Tulsa Housing Authority would responsible for paying all the rent or if they just pay part of the rent to make up for the tenant's lack of income?

I also assume a lot of people are like me: filled with big vision but lacking capital.
