we are continuing in our little berg in the Portland OR MSA.. there is no inventory to speak of  24 homes on the market as of 30 minutes ago when i check MLS in a town of 25k  thats detached SFR..

it is hard to find a small 1 bedroom apartment for under 200-250k, and most detached homes are 600k+ (unless you qualify for affordable housing, in which case you have to jump through a lot of hoops and seemingly get lucky to secure property in town).

Much of the other units on the market are in the better school district in town, are slightly larger, and are single family detached where ours is a single family attached on a smallish lot with one shared wall.
