He did horrible work, use the cheapest materials and I ended up having to use another contractor to come behind him and make corrections to his repairs- plumbing, electrical, etc.

The standing trim for doors can't be lowered without having it look horrible up top, so you would need to  get new trim, paint, then install.

Greetings everyone, I humbly respect and appreciate each and everyone one of the replies above,I recently bought a House in detroit for 5000 Cash with a cousin, its in its 4 month of rehab, investing with family is horrible lesson learned.Ok, when i mean taking action, im really seeking a source of RE investment where i dont need to leave my job, and i dont need to physically be there, seems like notes would be a great option,Im guessing the best option for education is Pod-cast, yes you guys are spot on, ive found the bigger-pockets pod-cast, No Limit Pod-cast, but as i listen to all of these, I get pumped and ready to take some action.I haven't im not sure what niche i want to go with, but im thinking i need to at least 2 one to support the other

Then there are horrible repo houses that I wouldn't pay more than $10,000 grand for that they say are worth $65,000.I messed around with my listing some when I was selling to see if I could change it for the better and it really didn't make a difference.
