@Billy Daniel I would strongly recommend you dip your toes in the water before quitting your job and diving in the deep end.

People buy on what the bank says they can pay monthly, so if rates remain high and wage growth slows, which it should, affordability will remain an issue.

We did the slow and steady thing, saving up one salary when we were mil to mil, and then we set aside tax-free, hostile fire pay, family separation, etc. and we used the 10% savings account for those deployments where that was offered.
