@Tamara PerryIn many places, the assessed value of a property for tax purposes has far more to do with the hunger of local coffers than the actual market value of the property.There may be no actual significance to the discrepancy you have observed or it may indicate the property is devalued with respect to its peers (or that it has an outlandish assessed value in comparison to its peers) - looking at the neighbourhood tax assessments will shed light on this.
