At this time we decided rather than sell our first home and move it all into this one we just bought, we would try renting it first. 

Since you bought the property correctly (Low) you have enough to pay it off and get cash back for the Rehab, Holding and closing costs ($43K) to be covered by the Refi loan of $140K. 

In fact, we did this when we bought our hobby farm in 2011 and were out of state LLs. 

I bought a Turnkey property earlier this year and think there’s some benefit to that model.

My SFR that I bought just months ago is mortgaged with a 30 year loan and it appraised for $72K.

I would think if a home is bought in a none flood zone (even though it recently flooded) you wouldn't have nearly as much trouble selling.

Bought my first rental property in upstate New York 35 years ago.  

Also I really want to know if you bought at retail with already renovated units or did you go in and add value, a lot of the properties that I see 1 unit has been renovated and the other unit still needs some updating.
