I am personally negative on Manhattan longterm, as I think many aspects that made NY the center of US cultural mindset being competed/globalized away due to Internet.

I like '70s and '80s pop culture, mid-century design, and watching pretty much any sport. 

And in many cases, there's a sweet spot of distance from the city itself because most folks up here really dislike "city life" but still like being close to the cultural attractions.

I'm just thinking that people from different cultures etc, could not get it.

@Ben Cochran I'm not an expert at this, but my understanding is that in prison culture, the teardrop tattoo means that this person has killed someone. 

The culture is a bit different there and perhaps why you don't see too much self storage.

I love where I'm at the training and culture are both great for me what where I want to go with my business.

The real estate has been good to us, and to give you an idea, I'm going to be applying for a continuing education course in refrigeration so I definitely see value in that - however in my case I see specific value to use the knowledge that I'll gain for my (and my family's) own purposes, given that we already have a rental portfolio and some AC needs in the docket.I think there's a challenge in finding meaningful career opportunities within the trades for many, many people - as the training and cultural environments within most 'service businesses' such as an HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc can be desolate and make certain folks turn to the 'dark side' of business.
