I would still not allow a dog, especially a German Shepherd. 

I'd be leary of cabinets in a box drop shipped, although some higher end German types get here in boxes.

Some excellent lakes for fishing, great hunting (although the dear are about the size of well-fed German Shepards) and some fabulous golf.

I have a couple friends there who are doing it already fix and flip condos which are a major part of the German real estate market.
