(though these can be subjective) Solomon, Please correct me with what you learned if I am incorrect, but the perception I'm getting is that you think you learned not to get involved in deals that aren't bought right and have too much leverage that cannot be refinanced.

If you do go that route, be careful not to hold yourself out as the GP, or at least clearly explain the roll you played because there are quite a few GP's in hot water right now who at the minimum were intentionally vague about their roles creating the perception they have a track record that doesn't align with reality.

However, this probably wouldn’t have worked because with super high franchise fees the perception of potential franchisees would have been that the fee structure was too uncompetitive, and the result would have been that McDonalds would have had slower growth, and their competitors faster growth.Two other positive results of the McDonalds real estate strategy was (1) franchisees are more locked in since McDonalds is also their landlord (2) McDonalds was able to bypass legislation aimed at franchisors being able sell product at high prices to franchisees and (3) McDonalds benefits from the long term appreciation of real estate prices and inflation.

The only indicator of how the financial information was used, was to generate a pricing quote -- and the perception of that is depending on you have little or much you have, you pay more, or less (I could be wrong here, but that's the perception).
