Specifically, I am interested in learning more about syndications, working with lenders, lawyers, CPAs, and other professionals involved in cross-border real estate deals.

I called a lawyer but they didn't even know as it was too specific of a situation.Want to avoid putting myself in a bad spot and make sure I handle ESAs well in the future.

From my understanding (not a lawyer), that ordinance has been lifted and there is not limit anymore.

Hindsight and a few decades of experience has taught me that with a good lawyer I would have been in the clear completely.

When you talk to finance people they act like they are lawyers.
