We'll plan to treat the floor with some type of enzyme that kills bacteria, but I'm also planning to run an ozone machine.Do you have any recommendations of machines you've used and for how long to run them?

They require a lot of maintenance, will hold bacteria, wick water, expand / contract with the the seasons, wear unevenly, and you're basically asking your tenant to cut and chop all over it.In fact, I would bet that the TV show doesn't have real wood on the set.

Actually, routing wash water into a drywall is much better for a septic system than into the tank; high loading is the quickest course to failure for a septic tank, not to mention bleaches, heavy phosphate concentration, etc wreaking havoc on the bacteria population.

You really want bacteria tests for the well as that will really kill the sale of the property.During the inspection, the home inspector will likely (should) run all the water faucets in the house for a good thirty minutes then test flow rate.

The sewage runs into the tank, gets broken down by bacteria in the tank and the effluent flows out of the tank and into the leach field where it, theoretically, flows down into the water table.
