I'd like some advice on the wisdom of using $100k of my 401k money to buy a retirement home in Costa Rica.The facts:  I'm 57 years old and live in Hermosa Beach, where I rent an apartment. 

Should I wait for an opportunity in Hermosa or North Austin because I'm more likely to be able to visit the property more frequently.  

I would look into Hermosa, only issue is no train to get to downtown quickly ( have to take a bus to the blue line).Big fan of the areas your looking into.
