One additional possibility, IF you have hot water pipes in or under a slab, you could also have a hot water leak that is not apparent within the unit.

i run ceramiic/porcelain tiles under the cabinets mainly due to the height difference for the dishwasher. i run vinyl up to the cabinets because if there is a leak, the vinyl will trap water and rot the wood.if you dont have it under the cabinet you will get water in the basement and it will tell you there is a leak. if i was to put vinyl under the cabinets, i'd do a few long cuts with a saw to allow water to leak out if there was ever a leak.

On a couple of houses that I've had there were (IIRC) 4" X 12 with 1" X 6" laid diagonally over those.On one of those I had bad 1" X 6" but everything above those was good because we had replaced them a few years before when we replaced a leaking shower pan.

There was leaking from the roof down to the seal plate in the basement which rotted one of the walls in the lower bedroom.
