I think on its face the major perk is that you have achieved a level of income and net worth that puts you in the top probably 5 to 10% of all Americans and for that there is a feeling of accomplishment.. but on a transactional side it opens up as others have stated many different investment vehicles that are only open to accredited investors.. but choose wisely !!!

My good friend does nothing but notes and makes a decent annual return, but he doesn't benefit from appreciation, depreciation, and the larger total rates of return found in prudent income properties.Bottom line is your IRA can be a great tax fee vehicle, but you are bound to certain rules and regulations.
