If you are looking for a primary residence the winter sometimes can be good so you can check for air leaks, furnace and other issues but home are usually priced less in the area I am in .

I'm a software engineer currently located in Winter Springs, FL but have lived in Oviedo and Lake Nona as well.

If you want to move to a one-dimensional, tornado haven and icy winters, move to Dallas. 

In some cities you can not evict during the winter.

if the heater stops working for any length of time at the all to common -40 below Fairbanks can reach in the winter you will have frozen pipes in just a few hours. 

For instance, several winters ago a snow removal contractor presented a surprisingly high bill for weekend service (times when the property was not staffed).

Tahoe has 2 or 3 very slow months but they are carried by the busy months (Tahoe is a popular destination in both winter and summer). 

I'm looking for dependable recommendations for:*Cleaning service (I've heard that some can get really unreliable during the winter months-- have you had a good experience with yours?)

I'm in Chicago, which surprised me for the winter time.When I get another space, Ill be back for sure!
