Investing in syndications, done properly, is a lot less risky than described on the BP forums...and also a lot more complicated than discussed on the BP forums.

For newly constructed, purchased or renovated properties and also retroactive generally over the last 10 years, building components are properly classified into individual units of property and accurate recovery periods for computing depreciation deductions.

So they can replace the people that move out with people you approve of after proper screening..... keep the same number of people and now the total rent is split between them, so the per person goes up..... or they all move out and you start all over to rent it at current market rate.

I want to properly analyze a property that I have inherited using the Rental Property tool...but since I am not "paying" for the property, if I put $0 in for purchase price, then projected appreciation will not calculate since that is driven off the purchase price...any suggestions on how to get around this and get a feel for projected property appreciation within the tool itself?

Just wanted your ideas, opinions, and to confirm my thoughts and beliefs on this subject.I am in Florida, and am wanting to get more involved in the REI market down here.
