I haven't attended a BPCON personally but I don't think your age should matter much unless there are a lot of activities in a drinking environment that you wouldn't be able to attend without a chaperone. 

Many people look at just the mortgage versus rent and think they are making it out ahead by owning (and they might be), but when you factor in that now every repair belongs to your pocketbook, it can be more costly depending on the condition of the property and how well it is maintained.

What do your state laws say about belongs that are abandoned?  

Would you treat it the same in your analysis or look to see that a certain percentage higher given there could be longer pockets of time without a tenant?
