Columbus market is a little out of my price range, but I was thinking about investing in the Newark, OH area. 

I thought I was being flexible with the timelines because he had helped with the favors, but it's gotten out of hand at this point.What am I truly liable for?

Buying vacant land is always a good option, I would check on the rules for subdividing the land before purchase, and also find out how you can add additional income producing projects to your land.
