Hi,  I have an old primary residence that tenants have been in and are now vacating, it was a bit of a unique circumstance so I am trying to understand the tax ramifications or best approach. 

unfortunately, with both rates and prices high, it is very, very difficult to cash flow, even in a low cost market.i understand that not everyone's personal / family situation permits them to house hack, but there's no better way to get started.

From my understanding, your child could buy property/ hold mortgage for you to live in.

Others will say you do, but they don't understand how lawsuits and the legal system actually look at it.

Yep, its hard to understand how some people live a certain way, but they do.

And are you just referring to standard long-term rentals when talking about the rental space?
