Now living on the coast in North Carolina.

Prices on the north side are past what I find inviting, but a mailer campaign can still result in excellent deals from very motivated sellers.Multi-Family is hot now and getting hotter.

I'm buying 20 units in Waupun, WI (about 60 minutes north of Madison and 20-30 minutes south of Oshkosh and Fond du Lac).  

We have an investment in North Dakota that has paid well enough that we pay North Dakota as well as CA state taxes. 

At least for my friends and myself being from North Jersey we tend to make a couple of skiing trips there but always look for airbnb's.

Can anyone point me where to find the landlord tenant laws for North Carolina?

Having watched this unfold on a smaller scale (~4500 homes) in north LA earlier this spring (Monroe area), I can tell you what we have seen.There are opportunities to purchase houses in disrepair as a significant portion of the affected were not required to have flood insurance.

We also own a MHP in North Carolina (109units) and have some property in Los Angeles and Dallas.

I personally invest in the North County area. 15% and better returns using BPs 50% rule.
