My rental property, which is a condo, recently had a water leak from the pipes under the kitchen sink. 

Mine has floors, roof, appliances, hot water, exterior paint, bath and kitchen remodel, etc. $50 per month won't cover my capex budget.

Case in point, I own a multifam managed by a PM and 2 weeks ago I needed a new hot water heater.  

If this were me, I would first go and talk to actual folks who have lived in this builders properties for X amount of time (hopefully a year plus) and see if they've had issues, specifically water intrusion.

New furnaces and water heaters and a new roof.

-- then members of the "peanut gallery" (that's us, btw) suggest to the firefighters that they're being stupid and should try water, but the fire fighters insist that they know what's best, and dump more kerosene onto the fire, in an effort to 'put the fire out.'

The plumbing below my sink was improperly done leading to painfully slow drainage (takes days for the final inch of water to leave).

I'm seeing here that this is more of a site for investors, which were not necessarily interested in buying or building for an airbnb, we are very interested, however, in building a home that we will live in & then rent out or make our existing home in Kenosha Wisconsin which is on Lake Michigan an airbnb.We know NOTHING about buying a lot & then building.That said,  We have been trying to figure out how we get the most Bang for our buck buying existing property or building our own home.We have been seeing some amazing properties around 50K in Yucca Valley and/or 29 palms that list having water and electric available nearby.We want simple clean lines,  I suppose what would be considered modern contemporary but I hate putting that title on it because for some reason it seems like there's an upcharge just by using that description, lol...

Updates included:-Paint & white trim throughout-Laminate flooring throughout first floor-All new kitchen cabinets and countertops-Upgraded kitchen appliances -New carpet in bedrooms-Laminate flooring, new toilet, new vanity in bathroom-New water heater and HVAC Outside of the carpet and HVAC, I completed all the work myself and with the help of my Dad.
