Howdy,I'm looking to try house hacking in Austin, thinking it'd be best to get a 400kish 4 bed 2+ bath in a SFH with a FHA (3.5% down) and was wondering what are the going rates for renting a room in Austin and any tips or tricks that help with the process and if it gets a lot harder after moving out of the house (plan on living 2-3 years in it ideally).

The "ideal" situation is a low rate such as I am paying and having the manager do the work.  

I'm looking for lists that would include folks who've passed away, properties with water or electrical shut offs, and maybe more.Currently I have capital to employ and have three experienced investors, combined we have $350k to invest in Oregon - ideally on 5+ unit multifamily and mixed use projects to improve the communities and assist with housing.

The ideal referral would be someone you have personally worked with who is local to the Greater Los Angeles area, who knows how to handle accounting for income properties, and preferably also has experience with 1031 exchanges.

I deal with Wells Fargo, Chase, etc. all of the time and don't have 1% of the problems I have with BOA.

Ideally, if I were to be charged for paint, I would've liked to have seen the interest cover a decent portion of the paint price.

Colorado (Denver specifically) is super hot and expensive right now...it might not be ideal for getting started.But I would still recommend trying it first in NJ (using HELOC funding) before you go all out and sell and move.
