I think most people are familiar with the fictional story of a person who asks to be paid 1 penny per day at his job, and double that amount each day for a month?

I would never consider an offer to purchase without an inspection unless it was pennies on the dollar and the land value greatly exceeded the offer.

I applied an oil base primer thinned with paint thinner and painted with a oil paint brush a thin coat.

They save pennies on shorter set screws and less threads on the screw inserts, thinner and shorter wood screws for the door, rounded angles on screw heads instead of sharp philips head cuts, etc.

Not a penny in the coffers, many thousands of dollars in arrears on utilities, significant deferred maintenance, etc. 

It cost me $300 per tub, but an extra $300 if there is already a DIY coating on the tub (which is the case with almost every tub in this building) to remove.

And not only just the prep work before you paint, but there can be some good steps that are often skipped between coats.
