I would strongly suggest keeping your job until you have enough money from the rentals to support your lifestyle.

Finding out what lifestyle my girlfriend wished to have in the future became the first avenue that I used to break her into the idea of real estate investing.

A few dollars of cash-flow off a single property will have very little effect on your lifestyle.
