Just ensure you list both people as tenants on the lease and state that they are jointly and severally liable for all rent, money, damages, fees, etc. due to the landlord.

There’s nothing wrong with that, just understand that an area of lower incomes (not necessarily section 8) with some small time crime such as people smoking joints can be very profitable.
