I’d let them try it, however large breeds typically require a more powerful collar that is sold separately, and I’d let them know that.

I also let them know that the deposit is equivalent to the entire first month of rent, also,..no prior felonies or evictions in the last 5 years.....no smoking of any kind at all......and they can have 1 animal or pet, but it can't be a dangerous breed and it can't weigh over 20lbs fully grown.

Some companies don't allow certain breeds of dogs in the property.Bottom line is I would recommend just going with a company you're familiar with and that you trust.

Find a best of breed duplex--No 7' ceilings, No 8' x 8' bedrooms, no peeling exterior paint, ideally double pane windows, etc. 

They seem to favor the little lapdogs over the full size breeds.

I asked what kind of breed and they sent me a picture of the dog and said German Shepherd.

The ones that simply try to get listings so they can put them on the MLS and host an open house with cookies are a dying breed.

@Cindy SimcoxI also would recommend allowing the dogs (breed restrictive) and make them pay for it.

Multiple people there breeds competition and you don't always have to answer the same question over and over and over....I've had ones where I get 75-100 calls, emails etc and 15 people show up over 2 days for showings...... nd get 2-3 real applications that even meet my requirements etc.
