I’m newer to Bigger Pockets but am happy with the community I have found.  

Cashiers is unincorporated Jackson County - where Highlands is its own municipality and able to act in more precise way that exact community. 

Otherwise, I think it is a good area to buy, it should cash flow as an LTR on day one (unlike other places nearby) and it is a nice community. 

You are smart to be aware of these landmines, they might be good if you are just looking for a nice place to live but not great if you want to build a portfolio.  

You are doing more good for the community then just posting about your wins!

Based on this article (https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/community/housing/baltimo...) it looks like that out of 41,000 tax lien sales, 1,750 were foreclosed on.

And start the tedious process of building those relationships.Or you could skip all that and find a mentor that also has the community of likeminded people.It will take you less time but is likely going to require an up front investment.Btw have you done a deal yet or would this be your first?
