We then use credit cards and Amazon to buy all new linens and towels and kitchen items we haven't been able to find second hand.

To the snarky people who like to post withering and "clever" comments, I suggest it would be a better use of your time to ask yourself how it COULD be done and letting your imagination soar rather than pathetically trolling people who are trying to brainstorm.
