Has anyone tried to refinance a rental property in buffalo,NY using a local bank,if so which are accepting applications.

Also, where do you suggest buying, (NW Suburbs of Chicago, Schaumburg, Buffalo Grove, etc) or SW Suburbs (Naperville).

We have made our home perfect for our family of four, but the location is not where we want to be and we do want to move in the next two years regardless.We live outside of Buffalo, NY and nice SF and MF home's range from $60k-$200k so they are much cheaper than some other places.I am looking to get financial freedom with RE, so I would like to move quickly but still have a good home life for our children.

But my sister lives 5-9 hrs away in Buffalo, NY. and I’m wondering if there’s a way to help my sister get a place to stay that’ll help her get into RE and help me learn and make some change at the same time??

That being said, it’s not been as successful as Rochester or Buffalo at recovering from the loss of industries the latest couple decades.

Side note: I’m from Buffalo NY and would love to meet up with some local investors who want to work with a wholesaler!
