In West Texas, this is very common because many of the workforce travel from Houston or Dallas on a regular basis and renting a house is cheaper than staying in hotel rooms.

I work a 9-5 and make decent income but would like to generate more passive income to ultimately have more time to do the things I want to do, like traveling or spending time with my family.

I travel around the world and live abroad for a portion of the year, so vacation or investment property outside the US interest me.

People still travel to the beach in the winter, they can just be really really picky about where they stay because there are so many listings available.

@John Cassel @Dontelle Wilkens I’m in Charlotte as well, I’ll be traveling next week for work but would be great to stay in touch/meet up at some point (as well as others in Charlotte...I’m on my phone and can’t remember enough people to tag them).

I’ve found a property near a great school with a 3/2 trailer on it.

This area draws a lot of foreigners too and the large bedroom count can accommodate multiple families traveling together for vacation.A friend of mine who is an agent in the area has a few clients buying in Davenport for the short-term rental options.  

Is the distance of travel decreasing by 10 minutes?

I don’t have quite enough space to do RV/trailer storage (and don’t really want the eyesore of it either since we have sparse trees).
