While you would be a disqualified party to your mother-in-law's IRA, she is not disqualified to your IRA.That said, you would want to be very careful in having your IRA deal with the company, and any transactions should be at normal market rates.IRS rules prohibit any direct or indirect benefit between an IRA and a disqualified party. 

Because of privacy laws the county would not even acknowledge that the office resided there, and the State Vital Statistics office would not give out a copy of the death certificate without a court order, also to comply with privacy laws.

Also in regards to 401k and IRAs and mutual funds and all that Jazz.. yes it's complicated......... but to be honest... not really (well sort of... when it comes to tax codes, law etc), took me about 2 months 8 days to figure it out... 

After we had about 12 STRs, my wife quit her regular job as the office manager of a law firm in order to clean houses. 

My mother-in-law has a house which we are helping to do some rehabbing and she is planning to rent it out.One of the problems that we noticed, is that the exterior wood stairs (connecting the kitchen and garage) is exposed, so if it's raining, it would be very inconvenient for the tenants.

You also need to understand the local and state laws relating to acquiring and evicting tenants.  

I heard about this "tip" a few times from Brandon, the beardy guy :)When I brought it up to my RE agent she said it's "BS" and that they don't forward these things (photos, letters) to the seller due to HIPAA law. 

You really need someone to look at the documents you have, what they say, and pit that against your local laws and procedures. 

If I were to only allow 2 occupants per bedroom, that isn't violating any Fair Housing Laws, is it?
