My regular insurance policy covers rent loss, but only in the event of a catastrophic occurrence  ( fire , flood, etc).

We host a monthly real estate meetups in Lowell where we bring in real estate professionals to talk to the group and answer questions.

I am not sure if there is anything he could do as a regular plumber.
