I recommend you work with a mortgage broker that works with 220+ lenders to help you shop for the best lender for your situation! 

Its usually best to go the permit route when adding bathrooms ect but comes at a cost time/expense wise. 

@Michelle Nevarez, the most common way people get started is through house hacking.You could use your VA loan to buy a property for yourself to live in.  

So keep that in mind.Another more creative way to go about it is looking at the multifamily selling in the neighborhoods you plan to go after.

If you don't have an appraisal and cannot rely on the county website then speaking with an appraiser sounds like your best option to get an accurate valuation.

They are a great way to scale your business.They are asset-based loans as opposed to borrower based.

Any thoughts on what to do and the smartest way for us to start doing some investing from this?
