Since we will have less paid off, we will need more houses.So its really a personal choice. 

This is for buy and hold and even though your money will most likely go up over the years due to inflation and demand, returns through rental income might not be the best choice.

Both projects are very similar in cost so I gave them the option, they made their choice and now everyone is happy.Lesson learned: when you get creative and bring up ideas to your team, don't let them tell you "that's not possible" until they go and do their research and give you all the information you need to make a decision.

Any thoughts on your standard choices?

There are many deals out there and many choices.  

I got spooked and too risk averse, and had too low reserves, and I made what has obviously been a poor choice in retrospect.

There are several local banks in my area so I did have some choices.

The attorney who forms your LLC is an appropriate choice for a registered agent. 

In fact stay away from sec. 8 at all cost unless you have units in the ghetto in which case you have no choice.
