I enjoy researching and learning, so thank you very much for focusing my direction.

I know there has got to be a resource. and obviously I could google or toggle with Zillow and trulia, but there probably is an easier way, such a silly rookie I am.  

@Bryan Palermo--look up business casual on the google machine, and wear a version of it that is appropriate to the scheduled venue.

With this best I can say is google "how to invest in real estate" & start reading.

This causes an overrepresentation of bad experiences online (this can be seen in google comments about almost every restaurant, even if the place is stellar there are numerous one star reviews.

The villages isn't bad per se, but residents tend to enjoy that they are tucked away from massive growth in their own community so the lack of appreciation is a bit self inflicted.
