You area  may not yet see lead paint lawsuits against landlords, but that does not  mean you are not at risk. 

My family has been involved in REI since I can remember and I've spent countless weekends fixing rental properties and doing some DIY rehab.I'm currently in the research phase of my real estate career and although my family's experience in RE lays heavily in single family homes, I am more drawn to multi-family and flipping.  

Glad you're here.There are lots of ways to learn more and getting involved in the local real estate investor community in Maryland is something I'd also put on the beginner list.

But the condensed version has been besides asking/demanding outrageous things they know are covered or outside the lease they have attempted to rent the house under us placing our realtors licensing at risk as well as the wellbeing of the property. 

But keep in mind there a lot of costs involved. 

These properties  I have owned both of these properties for less than a year but there is no bank involved mortgages or lenders as they are free and clear any advice?

I understand it, but just not sure I want to put it under contract until I know a little more about NNN and if it isn't he best way for relatively low involvement, protected cash flow.I'm staying away from fundrise and REITs at the moment.

Since there are no realtors involved, how can I be secure that when I put money down that I am getting something, or that the properties don't have other liens or that this seller even really is the owner???
