Scott's book "The Book on Flipping Houses" I'd recommend reading it.As far as finding cash flow properties, I know that's a pretty difficult if not impossible task in NYC.

I have read a few books here and there on the subject and have soaked up as much knowledge as I can here on Bigger Pockets.

In the end, they handed me a Robert Kiyosaki book, asked me to read it, and we set up another meeting in a few days from now.

A great book I've been reading is "Millionaire real estate investor" by Gary Keller.

I feel it's always nice to get other investors real-world perspectives and not just the author's from a book.
