No jobs around here in construction or development but at the time I had a decent nest egg of cash.The reality was we could either blow through our savings in a couple of years and have nothing to show for it, or buy income producing properties and live off of cash-flow.The challenge has been getting enough properties into production to support our fairly modest life-style while not draining the reserve account down to zero.

We decided that we could downsize our lifestyle and I got out of the Army after being in for nine years.

I did this because I thought it would be smart to target higher income earners in wealthy countries looking for investment opportunities (or relocation / lifestyle opportunities) in high quality of life, but lower GDP countries. 

This will be great for Kyle.The Domain in Austin is nice place because of the type of shops and restaurants (and architecture) it has.Something like this will be great for Kyle.I think the people of Kyle will have a much better lifestyle because of it.A Golden Corral Buffet would be nice there too.

[But no-one asks: How much lifestyle should I give up while saving enough deposit?]

It would be more like a lifestyle asset. 

Pitch it as a retirement plan that involves a lifestyle upgrade -- he just gets a check every month, no dealing with tenants or toilets. 

I actually want to live out of country (low cost of living) for couple of years therefore i want fewer properties with paid off mortage to sustain my lifestyle.

I call the retirement home the lifestyle home.
