It requires a inspection by the Section 8 housing authority before a tenant can move in, and if your building / unit does't pass you wouldn't be able to rent to them anyway, without making the changes that Section 8 inspectors would write up.

I would never buy a property with a previously filled tank -  the inspector may have missed the presence of holes while inspecting the rank prior to the fill and that rank could be sitting over a big leak.I speak from experience and can be contacted directly for further guidance.

I recently walked away from a deal because the inspector found knob and tube wiring in the attic and then confirmed it was throughout the house.I did a lot of research here on Bigger Pockets and learned that most people either walked away from the deals or got a significant price reduction.My inspector also told me that a lot of insurance companies won't insure a property that still has the knob and tube electrical.

Hopefully you included an inspection in your report- you usually have a certain period (called the due diligence period) during which to order a property inspection (your agent probably knows an inspector and will arrange that).
