So I had a few questions to see if any of you had a similar experience and what you all have done/learned.First, besides what I put into the unit (25K) is there anything else I can write off?

@Sharon Patterson, any rehab is a "project" and basic project management principles state that there are 3 key interrelated aspects to all projects: time, scope, and cost.

I was under the assumption that the road leading to cabin was a public road as it is named and marked on all maps, apparently not.

AND I did the thing we all read about, as far as getting multiple quotes for insurance and everything, went to move forward with the best one, State Farm, and we find out that we can’t get a policy due to having made a personal articles claim less than three years ago (was probably almost 3 years ago.)Now this was my business partners who made that claim.
