But I am close to 100K saved up.I notice that in poor/rough neighborhoods, like the West side of Chicago, properties are much cheaper, yet the rent is roughly the same as in good neighborhoods given similar conditions.

Are any of you hitting the 2% rule in these marketsReal Estate Agents:Anyone out there working with investors from CA/West Coast? 

I am curious to learn about other people's opinions and experiences with investing in apartment complexes in West Chicago.    

It isn’t cheap here (no need for east and west coasts to chime in, Lol).

I would not buy new build, but older units, especially in the west suburbs, even though they seem to be  seem to be pricy, are doing so well for me now.

@Warren West I have never heard of this in Cranston, only in Providence. 

For example, over two-thirds of individuals living in areas of concentrated poverty in the West are Hispanic, and only one in 10 individuals in these communities is black.

I plan on making a few trips West to begin to gather a team out there and was curious if people had any advice for me in regards to the market, possible strategies, and people they may refer to me to get on my team.
